Rainy season is when Central Florida relies on the daily sea breeze collisions from the east and west coasts to trigger daily storms. The sea breezes are driven by the differences in temperature between the ocean waters and land.The wind from the east coast then collides with the air and wind from the west coast.

Torrential rain in Florida primarily results from the passing of low pressure systems through or close to it. The most well known low pressure system is the tropical hurricane, which is capable of producing truly enormous amounts of precipitation over a short period of time.
