Amsterdam is rife with pickpocketing, petty crime as well as more serious crime. There’s also the drugs in Amsterdam that can be purchased VERY freely, leading (sometimes) to mayhem and stupidity. In particular, the Red Light District is pretty dangerous (not gonna lie), especially at night.

I am joking, of course. But, to be honest, I don`t actually mind that the shops are closing early in Amsterdam, except on Thursday. After all, I am not a big fan of consumerism and I like to believe that a shop closing early also means that its employees are happier.
