Lyon is a wonderful city in France to enjoy. You get to experience good food (try the oysters and cheese in the market or book a good restaurant), shopping, the Cathedral on the hill and the Old Town with the scenic views. You can easily fill up a couple of days.

You definitively don’t need a car in Lyon. I suggest that you drop your car to one of the train station rental agency and take a taxi on your last day to get to the airport, that will cost you less than rental + parking.
