Here’s one easy way to decide between the two coastlines: the Cinque Terre is located on the coastline of northern Italy, while the Amalfi coast is in southern Italy.The Amalfi coast, meanwhile, is better accessed from Rome or Naples. From Naples, it’s just an hour on the local Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento.
