Some people learn to punt very quickly, but others don’t. If you haven’t punted before, our staff are always ready to offer punting tips and demonstrations. The maximum capacity of a self-hire punt is six people including punter (as required by law).

Do you get wet punting?
No matter how good you are at punting, you’ll find that your clothing will get a little wet (soaked if you jump in)! I recommend avoiding clothes that are made of thin, flowing material as they have a habit of attaining degrees in transparency (Cambridge certified, of course)!
How can I straight my punt?
Getting on a Punt
Lean the pole slightly forward and gently push straight behind the punt, work your way up the pole hand over hand, and when you get to the top with the pole trailing behind you, the boat and the pole should be in a straight line.
