Ottawa is mostly a very safe and friendly city. I’ve never felt scared anywhere in Ottawa and have lived here most of my life. It’s not as multicultural as Toronto (no where is) but it is certainly an city of equality (at least in my experience). The east is very French, the west much more anglophone.
