There are many different religious groups found in Shanghai; Confucianism, Daoism (Taoism), Buddhism, Islam, Christianity and Popular Folk Religion. Daoism and Buddhism have the biggest following in Shanghai, while Shanghai also boasts the largest Catholic presence in mainland China.
