Is Nepal open for tourist visa?

Nepal resumes visa on arrival for foreign tourists in bid to revive tourism. In a notice on Thursday, the Immigration Department of Nepal said foreign travellers to Nepal can obtain visas on arrival if the applicants have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days in advance.

Can tourists go to Nepal now?

U.S. citizens are permitted to enter Nepal. Please refer to the latest traveler information sheet provided by Nepal Tourism Board. Effective September 24, all fully-vaccinated foreigners arriving in Nepal via the immigration office at the airport or a land border can receive on-arrival visas. No quarantine required.

Take a bus or taxi and get down to Siliguri.It takes about 1 hour to reach Panitanki from Siliguri. Once you visit the Indian Immigration Office here and get your passport stamped, you can either take a rickshaw or walk (for about 10 minutes), cross over a bridge and reach the Nepal border town Kakarbhitta.

Can I enter Nepal from Sikkim?

There is no direct connection from Sikkim to Nepal. However, you can take the drive to Bhadrapur airport, fly to Kathmandu, then take the drive to Kathmandu. Alternatively, you can take the taxi to New Jalpaiguri, take the train to Raxaul Jn, then take the drive to Kathmandu.
