More than half (about 60%) of total registered mosques in Sri Lanka are jumcahmosques. According to Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs, there were 1820 mosques other than Dharga and Shrine in 2002. They are found in every major cities, small town and villages where Muslims are living as community.
