The Tunisian Railways (SNCFT) are easily the best way to travel between Tunis, Sousse, El Jem, Sfax and Gabès. There is also a branch line from Sousse to Monastir and Mahdia, and several other routes. Trains are comfortable, modern and air-conditioned.
