Ever wonder why the water off the coast of Hilton Head is a different color from other beaches in places like Florida? Or why sometimes the ocean looks more green/ grey / blue on different days in the same spot? Does murky water mean dirty water?

What color is Hilton Head beach water?

The Atlantic at Hilton Head is a kind of murky grayish green color which is fairly typical of waters on the east coast. Waves are much higher on the ocean, and you do have more opportunities to surf!
