What happened to the Sugarloaf gondola?
Before it was taken down in 1997, the bottom was cannibalized to provide parts for the upper half. But long after the gondola lift was dismantled, its legend lives on in Carrabassett Valley. Cars were auctioned off to raise money for the mountain and they scattered, landing in lawns and fields.
