Can I be exempted from mother tongue?
Eligibility. Your child may be eligible for MTL exemption in a mainstream primary school if they: Are returning from overseas and had no opportunity to learn an official MTL, a Non-Tamil Indian Language (NTIL) or an approved Foreign Language or Asian Language for a sustained period of time.
Can you be exempted from mother tongue in JC?
Students can be exempted from taking H1 Mother Tongue if they have passed their Higher Mother Tongue in Secondary School, but it still counts as 1 point. However, if the student did not undertake Higher MTL in Secondary school ‘O’ Level, it is compulsory for him/her to complete H1 MTL in JC.
Is mother tongue compulsory for a level?
All applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Students need not take the H1 MTL at A-Level if they have obtained a D7 or better in Higher MTL at O-Level as they would have been deemed to have fulfilled the MTL requirement.

What is the lowest PSLE score?
The PSLE Score will range from 4 (best) to 32. The score will be used when you choose a secondary school and also students will continue to be assigned to Express, Normal (Academic) and Normal (Technical) courses, until 2023.
