If you stay in the historic district you won’t need a car. It’s walkable, less than 2.5 square miles, full of shaded squares among the restored neighborhoods. Assuming you’re flying in to the Savannah-Hilton Head Intl. Airport, take a taxi to your downtown hotel, or see if your hotel provides an airport shuttle.
