Since 2010, both the Dallas and Houston metropolitan areas have added about 1 million people. That’s the most in the nation by far but in the last three years, the Dallas metropolitan area has eclipsed Houston significantly. Between 2010 and 2015, the Houston metro area added, on average, 145,000 people per year.
