Can you swim in the pools of OHEO Maui?

Next hike the south side of the gulch area up along the beautiful pools and back to the visitor center and parking lot. Swimming is possible in the Kpahulu District of the park – but only when conditions allow.The entrance to Oheo Gulch / Seven Sacred pools pass thru Haleakala National Park.

The Pools of Oheo is one of the best freshwater swimming spots in Maui. Is it crowded? Unfortunately, yes, the pools are one of the most popular spots on the island and are almost always quite crowded. However, you can avoid some of the crowds by doing Shaka Guide’s reverse tour and getting there before everyone else!
