Both short-finned and long-finned pilot whales are known to frequent Delaware’s coast, following and feasting on squid. Short-finned pilot whales can reach up to 24 feet and weigh up to 6,600 pounds, while long-finned whales can reach 25 feet and about 5,000 pounds.
