Can you walk from Nepal to Tibet?

The old border crossing at Kodari is currently CLOSED to foreign travelers. It is only open to Nepali and Chinese passport holders. You will not be able to cross from Nepal into Tibet without an organized tour, which I will explain how to arrange later in this post.

Can you enter Tibet from Nepal?

Traveling to Tibet from Nepal can be done in two ways directly; across the land border at Gyirong Port and overland to Lhasa via the Sino-Nepal Friendship Highway or by flight to Lhasa Gonggar International Airport.No matter which way you take, you need to get several permits and visas to enter Tibet from Nepal.

Is it easier to climb Everest from Tibet or Nepal?

Getting to the base camp of Mount Everest is much easier in Tibet than in Nepal. In Nepal, it takes around ten days to trek from Lukla to Everest Base Camp (EBC) on the southern slopes of the mountain, after a flight from Kathmandu to the small airport at Lukla.
